Dewars Attorneys-at-Law (formerly Everton J. Dewar & Co.) was established in 2010 as a small, service firm offering personalized yet professional services to a wide cross section of the population. Creating a foundation of efficiency, integrity and reliability the firm quickly grew its operations whilst maintaining the level of trust and confidence held by its clients. With a proven track record of attaining results, the firm strives to guarantee client satisfaction and takes pride in curating an enriching experience for our clients. Everton Dewar
Director
Everton is the founder of Dewars, having established the firm (Everton J. Dewar & Co.) in 2010. He is an accomplished Attorney-at-Law, who started his legal career in 2008. He represents clients in a wide range of legal matters, including civil and criminal litigation, contract and commercial law, personal injury claims, family law, conveyancing, entertainment law and estate matters. As Director of Dewars, Everton is deeply committed to providing personalized, effective legal solutions with integrity and professionalism.
He holds a Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School and Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and International Relations along with a Certificate in Public Administration from the University of the West Indies, Mona.
Everton previously served as a Legal Consultant and Superintendent in charge of the Legal Affairs Department at the Jamaica Constabulary Force. In that role, he advised the Commissioner of Police, led a team of attorneys, and provided legal support on major matters, including the State of Emergency Tribunal and the West Kingston Commission of Enquiry.

Danielle McFarlane
Senior Associate
Danielle McFarlane joined the firm in 2023. Her areas of practice include Civil Litigation, Estate Administration, Conveyancing and Divorce. Danielle earned her Bachelor of Laws degree with honours from the University of the West Indies, Cavehill Campus, in 2016. She graduated from the Norman Manley Law School in 2018, where she was awarded the H. Aubrey Fraser Memorial Prize for outstanding performance in Ethics, Rights, and Obligations of the Legal Profession (shared). She was admitted to practice in Jamaica in the same year. Danielle is a proud member of the Wolmer’s Girls Alumnae and lives by the school motto, "Whatever you do, do it well”

Ricardo Williams
Associate
Ricardo Williams joined the firm as an Associate in the Litigation Department with a diverse practice in Civil Litigation in January 2025.
His practice includes Personal Injury, Family Law, Divorce, Conveyancing, Real Estate and Property matters among others.
His Legal journey began at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica where he earned his Bachelor of Laws degree with Honors in 2021. He then continued his journey at the Norman Manley Law School (NMLS) in obtaining his Legal Education Certificate. He was called to the Jamaica Bar in December 2024.
Before joining the firm, he gained valuable internship experience with other reputable law firms. He enjoys travelling locally and abroad, making cinematic travel contents while exploring Jamaica and other places he visits.

Stacy-Ann Josephs
Consultant
Stacy-Ann is a highly qualified legal and corporate governance consultant with over 15 years of experience advising boards, senior executives, and government stakeholders on regulatory compliance, policy development, and corporate secretariat operations. With a proven track record in both the public and private sectors, she specialises in helping organisations strengthen governance frameworks, streamline board procedures, and align with local and international compliance standards.
As the former General Manager – Legal and Corporate Secretary at the National Export-Import Bank of Jamaica and Senior Manager, Legal and Company Secretary at the Housing Agency of Jamaica, Stacy-Ann has led legal departments, advised boards on statutory obligations, and overseen the planning and execution of high-level governance operations. She has successfully negotiated and drafted high-stakes Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and Joint Venture Agreements, as well as regulatory policies, ensuring strategic alignment with organisational goals.
Stacy-Ann was called to the Jamaican Bar in 2009 and holds a Master of Laws in Commercial and Corporate Law from Queen Mary University of London. Her consulting services bring a sharp legal mind, diplomatic stakeholder engagement, and hands-on experience with legal drafting, procurement oversight, and international compliance. She is exceptionally equipped to support organizations undergoing transformation, preparing for governance audits, or seeking to elevate governance standards in line with global best practices.

Joan Davis
Operations Manager
Joan is an accomplished Administrator and Paralegal with 20 plus years in Administration, Insurance and Legal arenas. She is adept in managing client records, streamlining operations and enhancing customer experience through commitment and empathy. Joan’s strengths include being Detail-oriented, goal driven and sharp minded with a proven consistency to meet deadlines. Proven team player with leadership and strong time management skills and work ethics toward achieving Dewars goals.
